Ramadan

             Ramadan is a holy month for all Muslim. In this month all Muslim are fasting form dawn until sunset. Fasting means refrain from eating, drinking, smoking. Ramadan teaches us to be a good people. It teaches us how the poor people pass their day without food. In the whole month we are praying for everyone. ask for forgiveness our past sins and try to do good deeds. Everyday in Ramadan we get up before dawn to eat Saheri  ( it means eat something before dawn). After that we eat after sunset it call Iftar. Ramadan teach  us discipline, sacrifice self-control, sympathy for unfortunate people and charity. Sexual activities are also forbidden during fasting. We take ifter with every family member sometimes with the friends. We take special food during Ramadan. Fasting is nor compolsary in childhood. 
       All Muslim should start once reached puberty, healthy and have no illnesses or disabilities.

Thanks for explaining this important period to all of us. Thanks also for the beautiful and interesting pictures. I hope you get through the month OK without being able to eat during the day. I heard on the radio that it is very hard on Muslims when Ramadan falls at this time of year because there is so much time between sunrise and sunset. Let us know how you're doing.
